The Best Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting! Great on cake, cupcakes, cookies, and brownies.

Serves: 1 large cake or 24 cupcakes
  • ¼ C salted butter
  • 1 8oz Cream cheese or Neufchatel cream cheese
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract (I use Mexican extract because it is better)
  • 4 C confectioners/Powdered sugar
  • ¼-1/3 C coco baking powder (start with ¼ C and add as desired)
  1. First, soften the butter and unwrapped-cream cheese in the microwave. For a firmer consistency don’t melt either one.
  2. Next, add all of the ingredients and only 1 C powdered sugar in a mixing bowl. Mix on low speed adding the rest of the powdered sugar slowly until it is all added.
  3. Mix on high for 1-2 minutes until the frosting is smooth.
  4. Taste Test.
  5. Depending on your preferences you may want to add more cocco powder (which is why I recommend starting with ¼ C and adding more to taste).
