Hi, welcome! I am so glad you are here. My name is Anita and here is a little bit about me…
I’m a Christian, author, blogger, wife, and a stay-at-home mom to four darling children.
Although our family is far from being super wealthy, we do live what we feel is a truly rich life. By being smart with our income we can travel (on the cheap), do fun things, help others who are in true need, and have the material goods that make life comfortable. Living like we do has allowed us to enjoy the variety of riches that life has to offer.
We all want to keep as much money as we can while still living well. This blog is centered on material and non-material riches and how to make that a possibility. As you can see from the navigation bar at the top, I will be covering living like you are rich from multiple perspectives.
-
Couponing, living frugally, and getting more for less.
-
Decorating on a budget.
-
Non-material riches (pregnancy, motherhood, family life, etc.)
-
Financial Do’s and Don’ts.
-
How to make extra money.
-
Gourmet recipes that can be made at home inexpensively,
-
and other Living Like You Are Rich tips.
My Book
My sister and I co-wrote the book endorsed by Dr. Laura Schlessinger, “Living a Rich Life as a Stay-at-Home Mom: How to Build a Secure Financial Foundation for You and Your Children,” which covers many of these topics more in-depth as well.
LiveLikeYouAreRich blog has been featured on the following sites, national publications, and magazines:
I come from a long line of entrepreneurs and successful money-managers. And as a result, I have been taught the ‘Do’s and Don’ts’ of finances. I also worked as the manager to a financial company and studied, read, and implemented many financial principles.
I like to write about much of what I’ve learned about money on this blog.
More about me…
I have always loved decorating, cooking, couponing, fashion, athletics, and thrift shopping. I love blogging about these passions. I was at one time, an office manager of a financial company and found that financial literacy is also a passion I have.
A few years after marrying my now ex-husband, I had our son (1/2 Navajo, 1/2 Caucasian), Denali—named after the National Park and mountain. He is energetic, happy and determined.

She is now eight and one of the sweetest and smartest little girls I’ve known.

One of my favorite things is seeing how Denali and Aurora adore Amelia….and now their other little brother, Brighton.

He was a gentle and fairly easy baby.
He loved to smile and coo at me. Brighton is pretty content most of the time.
The three children—adore him; it is the sweetest thing to see!!
I love my family.
They make my life truly rich in blessings.
Rewinding the timeline of my life even further…

In 2006-2007 I served a mission in Northwest Germany for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I spoke German fluently and learned firsthand the pain this country and its people have gone through since WWII.
I met many people who were alive during Nazi Germany and they told stories that were depressing and bleak. Yet, some expressed how they found hope and happiness after these tough times, and despite being poor, they led a rich life.
I learned while in Germany and have in my own personal life since, that happiness and rich life is not all materially or money-based.
True happiness/richness in life is determined by a variety of factors. Some factors are material—but most are not. These truths and tips are covered in detail on LiveLikeYouAreRich.com. I hope they are as beneficial to you as they are to my family.
Many people have asked about my faith. Here is a link if you are interested. You can also email me if you have any questions at all.

Hi Anita,
I came across to one of your blog from the Family share and I was really impress of your ideas to help kids in their behavior. My calling is a young women president in our branch and sometimes I help our primary class. I always see the efforts and patience of the leaders.
So, with your ideas, definitely this will be a great tool that I can share to them. It may not be in a home setting but surely very helpful.
Love,
Joy
Thank you Joy I appreciate that very much! Best of luck!
Hello! Came across your links on Pinterest today. Enjoyed several blog posts already. I’m pregnant with my first baby and I was hoping to read the 11 secrets to have in your labor bag article, but it seems to be no longer available. Was it renamed? Is there another link for it? Thank you for your help!
I’m not sure why it would’nt be working. Can you be so kind as to tell me where you found out about the article so I can fix the broken link? Here it is: https://livelikeyouarerich.com/11-secrets-to-have-in-your-labor-bag-for-women-only/ thanks!
Just wondering if you have any advice about getting my credit back in good standing and how to pay off debt creditors or not
Mary try these few posts here: How to get out of debt, How to repair a less than great credit score, and read my book (it’s cheap) here. I talk a ton about different ways to manage money, become debt free and pay off creditors. It’s hard work but its worth it!
Love your story!

I just stumbled across your blog today and noticed you mentioned your baby was Navajo. I’m a quarter Navajo and hardly find anyone else with ties like that! Lol. You’ve got so much good information here – I’ll definitely come back to reread when I’m starting my own family.

Hi Anita,
I came across to your blog about your experience with bottle refusal. I followed most of your tips but with the help of my mom because my son doesn’t want to accept a bottle from. Now, I’m ready to switch him to formula. Did you switch your daughter to a formula in a week? Did she handle it ok? No tummy trouble? I can’t be pumping all the time because I have to scald my milk every time I pump. My breastmilk has a high lipase and my baby doesn’t like the taste of it.
I think I eased her into it over a week if I remember right. Good luck! how did it go?
Nice post
Thank you so much for stopping by and reading my blog!
